Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States. He is revered for his role in ending slavery and reuniting the states after the Confederate secession. He was killed at Ford's Theater in Washington D.C. less than a week after the surrender of the Confederate Army.

were the butt of lewd jokes.


Sigmund Freud (1856 – 1939) is considered to be the originator of psychoanalysis. An apocryphal story recounts that Freud was lecturing at a University about the sexual symbolism of objects. When someone asked what meaning might be attached to the phallic smokes that Freud was never without, he famously replied "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar."
