"Gertrude Stein"

Gertrude Stein
Loved her wine
but she tended to smoke less
humping Alice B. Toklas

Gertrude Stein was an American writer who became a catalyst in the development of modern art and literature. Her relationship with her partner Alice B. Toklas is legendary. She wrote one of the first coming out stories ever published, containing perhaps the first use of the word "gay" in print as a reference to same-sex relationships.
